JOB DESCRIPTION

This is a remote position.
We are actively seeking a skilled Electrical Tendering and Estimator Coordinator to enhance our project team’s capabilities in preparing detailed and competitive tender submissions. This pivotal role requires a keen understanding of electrical projects, with responsibilities ranging from calculating accurate labor rates and material costs to developing comprehensive parts listings and managing supplier relationships. As an integral part of our team, you will ensure that all tenders are meticulously prepared, aligning with both industry standards and specific client requirements, particularly adhering to the AS3000 standards.
In this role, you will combine technical knowledge with financial acumen to ensure all aspects of the tenders are well-documented and competitively priced. Your expertise will not only involve direct trades but also extend to assisting the project team with strategic insights during the tendering process. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in electrical tendering and estimation, with strong analytical skills and the ability to work collaboratively to meet deadlines and achieve business goals.

Responsibilities

  • Cost Calculation and Tender Preparation
  • Accurately calculate and compile costs associated with labor, travel, materials, and parts based on detailed project plans and specifications.
  • Prepare detailed tender documents, including itemised listings, schedules, and comprehensive reviews of supplier quotes to ensure competitiveness and compliance.
  • Estimation and Supplier Coordination
  • Develop and maintain robust estimation processes to ensure all financial aspects of tenders are accurate and reflect current market trends.
  • Manage relationships with suppliers to ensure materials and parts are procured at optimal prices and meet project quality standards.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Demonstrated experience in electrical tendering and estimation, with a strong ability to handle complex calculations and financial analysis.
  • Deep knowledge of electrical standards, specifically AS3000, and proficiency in applying these standards to tender preparations.

Desirable

  • Previous work experience in similar roles within the Australian electrical industry, demonstrating a thorough understanding of local market conditions and regulations.
  • Electrical engineering background, with hands-on experience in project management and compliance.

Software Expertise

  • Proficiency in Simpro for managing project workflows and optimizing tendering processes.
  • Experience with Xero for financial tracking and management, ensuring alignment with project budgets.

Education

  • A tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field is highly preferred.
  • Professional certifications related to electrical work or project estimation are advantageous.
