Description:

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • At least 5 years of experience in testing and commissioning of HV/LV systems.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • EWRB registration is preferred.
  • Have complete understanding of codes and standards regarding Testing and Commissioning requirements for Electrical Systems (HV/LV)
  • HV Switching competence as a plus
  • Experience supervising or performing primary and secondary testing injection equipment.
  • Hands-on experience with installation, adjustment, configuration, testing and commissioning Electrical systems such as cabling, earthing/bonding, HV/LV Electrical Distribution systems and panels, transformers, UPS systems, Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS), lighting, overcurrent protection devices, metering and protection relays, power monitoring systems, energy management systems (SCADA) and other related electrical systems, controls and devices.
  • Experience with and a strong commitment to health and safety initiatives (LOTO, work permits)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team, including effective communication
  • Railway Experience is a plus
  • Experience managing group of technicians and electricians

Responsibilities:

THE ROLE:

The Electrical Testing and Commissioning Supervisor will be responsible for: document reviews and preparation related to the commissioning plans/procedures, construction site inspections, and HV/LV testing and commissioning at the Station and Tunnel facilities. He will also be required to properly document all T&C activities completely and legibly.
Duties of the Electrical Testing and Commissioning Supervisor will include both office work and construction site work as well as require supervision of assigned T&C Electrical Technicians.
The Electrical Testing and Commissioning Supervisor will ensure that all assigned T&C works are performed and undertaken in a manner that is consistent with the Link Alliance Health and Safety policy and procedures.

KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Understanding and applying the project TCSI Management Plan in the execution of the work
  • Execute the HV/LV Testing and Commissioning Plan for the works under guidance of the HV/LV T&C Lead Engineer
  • Utilizing the master commissioning document library for creation of project specific inspection checklists and test forms under the guidance of the HV/LV T&C Lead Engineer
  • Independently conduct construction progress inspections
  • Independently conduct commissioning inspections and execute commissioning tests based on T&C procedures under guidance of the HV/LV T&C Lead Engineer
  • Identifying system conditions that are abnormal, to determining their cause, and to recommend corrective actions
  • Executing work in a manner compliant with the project schedule
  • Provide timely reporting on T&C activities to HV/LV T&C Lead Engineer
  • Manage and report on anomalies/snags raised during HV/LV T&C, until final closure
  • Coordination with Temporary Operations office for all HV/LV work permitting and LOTO activities (preparing documents and attending meetings)
  • Performing all other activities as required of a Commissioning Engineer
