Description:

Boasting a legacy of over 130 years in the sugar industry, Bundaberg Sugar holds a prominent position in the Australian sugar sector. Serving as a grower, miller, refiner, and marketer of sugar and associated products. The company stands as one of Australia’s largest cane growers, operating a Sugar Mill, Refinery and Packaging Plant in Bundaberg, Queensland.
Bundaberg Sugar is currently seeking several skilled electrical tradespersons. The successful applicants will need to be dynamic, practical people with an assertive and “can do” mindset as they will be required to be active members of the electrical maintenance team.

QUALIFICATIONS

Successful applicants must hold a Queensland Electrical License endorsed as an Electrical Fitter Mechanic or Electrical Mechanic or the equivalent.

The successful applicants will possess the skills necessary to carry out electrical maintenance, capital for a factory/plant to meet maintenance targets, goals and objectives. The successful applicants will be required to:

  • Carry out mill plant maintenance and capital works as directed which pertains to skills held. Plant items include wiring, circuitry, mills, turbines, fugals, conveyors, carriers, pumps, fans, gearboxes, motors, vessels.
  • Work as part of a maintenance crew to meet the agreed factory production and maintenance targets.
  • Work in conjunction with parameters set by established condition monitoring techniques.
  • Complete electrical work for projects to enhance the operational availability of plant and equipment.
  • Actively participate in and support Company Workplace Health and Safety initiative

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

Reporting to the Electrical Supervisor, the roles will require the job holders to install, maintain and diagnose faults /repair electrical equipment including:

  • Wiring, circuitry and lighting
  • Motor starters, variable speed drives
  • General electrical items associated with sugar milling equipment.

Experience in using a computerised maintenance management system would be desirable
Assist with initiating and developing projects to enhance the availability and efficiency of plant and equipment.
