Description:
SKILLS REQUIRED FOR SUCCESS:
- Experience and knowledge of building maintenance procedures, construction methods, and regulatory codes such as the National Electrical code Code of Canada and Fire Safety Code in the Electrical trades
- Possess strong knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade and ability to work safely with a variety of power tools
- Ability to read/interpret blueprints, layout, quantity take-offs for ordering of the required materials
- Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment/system failures
- Commitment to continual learning, teamwork and providing excellent customer service
- Understand,communicate, read and write English at a level needed to meet job-related tasks and safety requirements

Qualifications:
- Completion of Grade 12, or an equivalent combination of training and experience
- Completion of a Journeyman Electrical Certificate with Fire alarm certificate . Certificate must be recognized by Government of Alberta Advanced Education and Technolog
Responsibilities:
- Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and repair/replace faulty equipment in a variety of electrical systems (including fire alarms, security systems, generators, UPS systems, HVAC, and more)
- Address electrical emergencies like power outages and fires to ensure safety and restore functionality
- Participate in a rotating on-call schedule for after-hours and emergency needs
- Install new electrical components and systems as required
- Regularly inspect electrical systems and equipment, and provide detailed reports on their condition and any necessary repairs
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including time spent and materials used, using SAP or other designated systems
- Work effectively with other trades, contractors, and colleagues
- Clearly communicate findings, solutions, and project updates to supervisors, colleagues, and clients
- Keep up-to-date on industry trends, regulations, and best practices through continuous learning opportunities
- Perform other related duties as required
