Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Ensures operation of electrical systems and equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on machinery and equipment.
  • Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, and electrical code specifications to determine layout of industrial electrical equipment installations.
  • Install, examine, replace, or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, conduits, feeders, fiber-optic and Cat 5 cable assemblies, lighting fixtures and other electrical components.
  • Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance.
  • Maintain, repair, install and test PLC’s, HMI’s, VFD’s.
  • Maintain, repair, test and install electrical motors, generators, alternators, industrial storage batteries and hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair industrial, electrical, and electronic control systems and other related devices.
  • Work in a safe manner in accordance with legislative and company health and safety standards
  • Participate in strong daily PDCA Activity. (solving daily struggles through deep RCA and strong CM activity)
  • Complete effective core time equipment Preventative Maintenance (PM) activity.
  • Daily work entry into CMMS system – document 90% of daily activities, equipment changes points, DT calls, wo generation, investigation and CM activity, meetings, training, and improvement activity.
  • DT call support.
  • Daily Communication –shift start meetings, WO backlog reviews, activity coordination with other shift members.
  • Continuous improvement -using knowledge and expertise to apply theme or project-based improvements to improve.
  • OJT and skill-based learning - Self teaching, equipment understanding, technical documentation creation and sharing, technical training.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of all work areas, tool cribs, machine workstations and office areas.
  • Parts sourcing - Quote initiation, vendor negotiations, part specification.

WHAT YOU NEED TO GET THE JOB DONE:

  • Journeyman certification as an Industrial Electrician is required 442A or 309A.
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in Commercial/Industrial Electrical work.
  • Preference to candidates with experience in a food industry is strongly preferred.
  • Electrical experience with PLC controls, motor controls and variable frequency drives strongly preferred.
  • Dealing with tight deadlines and flexible to work overtime when needed.
  • Excellent communication skills.
