Description:

An Electrician oversees the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment. This role involves managing a team of electricians, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and coordinating with other departments to ensure that electrical projects are completed efficiently and on time.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 with relevant qualification
  • Must be Trade Tested – Red Seal
  • 5 years relevant experience in a related role within the food manufacturing/FMCG environment and experience in leading a team
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced and high performing environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, repair, and maintain electrical systems, machinery and equipment in compliance with electrical codes and safety standards
  • Conduct preventative maintenance routines to ensure longevity and efficient operations of electrical systems
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues using testing devices and diagnostic equipment
  • Regularly inspect electrical systems, circuits and equipment to identify potential hazards or malfunctions
  • Report any electrical problems, safety concerns or potential risks to the Maintenance Manager or relevant personnel
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, procedures and regulations to ensure a safe working environment
  • Ensure compliance with local and state electrical codes and regulations
  • Collaborate with other maintenance staff, engineers, and production personnel to ensure seamless operations
  • Respond promptly to electrical emergencies or breakdowns to minimize downtime and ensure the safety of personnel and equipment
