YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
You will contribute to TOYOTA’s Powertrain system improvement for the European market and support our shift to electrification.
As a design engineer in the Powertrain Design Div., your main responsibility will be the development of Powertrain power conversion units with a focus on On-board charger, 12V DCDC converter and motor inverter. You will initially focus on “new mobility” electric vehicle projects.
- During specification phase you will set unit & system technical requirements for inverter, DCDC converter, and charger to prepare for sourcing in co-operation with our Purchasing Dept.
- After sourcing you will drive the development process for localized parts. You need strong engineering skills to support our suppliers in their development. You will make sure the development is finished on time and meets all of Toyota’s quality requirements. For parts developed in Japan, you are the liaison between our mother divisions in TMC and other European parties (assembly plants, suppliers)
- During the evaluation phases, you will collaborate with our vehicle evaluation team to confirm whether your design is meeting all functional & performance requirements. You will validate the unit evaluation results provided by our suppliers.
- Finally, you will make sure mass-production parts achieve their expected performance and support the plant in the assembly preparation process involving your components.
