It will be Canada’s first large-scale lithium-ion battery production plant when it begins production at the Twin Oaks site in Windsor, Ontario. As a DE Engineer, your main responsibilities prevent and revolve defect that occur serious product problem related to electrodes and cells for various applications. In this position, you will learn to compose an engineering team from the ground up in a new dynamic EV Battery Industry. Additionally, you will solve problems through improving chronic defects and process capability for major quality items. * DE (Defect Engineering).

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in any engineering major is preferred (Mechanical, Chemical, Environmental, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing, etc.).
  • Bachelor’s degree in math, physics, statistics, or related field helpful but not required.
  • MS Office tool-based report writing and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work well with individuals and teams across the company to achieve team goals and targets.
  • Computational Skills, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and statistical knowledge.
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada.
  • Master’s Degree in Engineering or Science preferred.
  • 3 or more years of manufacturing industrial experience (Especially, lithium-ion batteries industry).
  • Engineering certificates preferred.
  • Knowledge of Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Control Plan (CP) preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Investigate and analyze defects in battery products during the Electrode/Cell production process.
  • Conduct particle sampling, analysis of foreign contaminants.
  • In the process of setting up new production lines, proactively identify and mitigate potential factors contributing to defects.
  • Conduct advanced analysis and optimization of airflow within Cleanrooms, Dry rooms, and Mini-environments.
  • Establishment of a particle and production environment monitoring system
  • Optimization or novel development of Defect elimination units.
  • Improve production processes by creating various SOPs and train operators to ensure understanding and correct implementation to floor.
  • Maintain communication between department co-workers and manages Defects during production.
  • Prepare and participate daily, weekly, and monthly meetings with other teams.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
