Description:

TSC Subsea is a global specialist in developing advanced remotely deployed subsea NDT inspection solutions to assess the structural integrity of offshore assets.
We use diverless underwater scanners and crawlers to deploy the latest high resolution inspection technologies ART, ACFM, PA and PEC to the work face. The robust design of our tooling enables our clients to cost-effectively monitor assets and infrastructure while reducing risk to the environment and personnel.
TSC Subsea is part of Previan, an innovative technology group that develops the most advanced NDT science and technology in the world.
We operate globally in key subsea markets with facilities in the UK, Norway, United States, Brazil and Australia
Purpose
As an Electrical Engineer at TSC Subsea Ltd, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and supporting electrical systems and components for our advanced robotic platforms. You will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and technicians to create innovative solutions that meet the stringent demands of NDT applications in the subsea environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field; master’s degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in electrical design and development, preferably in the subsea, marine, or offshore industry.

Proficiency in using CAD tools for circuit design and PCB layout (e.g., Altium, Eagle).

  • Experience with microcontrollers, embedded systems, and programming languages such as C/C++ or Python.
  • Familiarity with sensors, actuators, and communication protocols commonly used in subsea applications (e.g., RS-485, CAN, Ethernet).
  • trong problem-solving skills and creativity along with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to electrical systems and subsea applications is a plus.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Experience with robotic control systems and motion control algorithms.
  • Knowledge of non-destructive testing methods and technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with prototyping and testing electrical systems in a laboratory or field setting.
  • Familiarity with safety standards and best practices for designing electrical systems in underwater environments.
  • Keen to work in offshore environments (oil platforms and vessels) delivering inspection as part of a combined NDT operator / Engineer team.
  • Practical engineering experience: wiring and PCB population with soldering / fabrication skills and an ability to fault finding

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop electrical systems and components for subsea inspection tools, including circuit design, PCB layout, and integration of sensors and actuators.
  • Collaborate with mechanical and software engineers to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems with subsea platforms.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, simulations, and testing to validate electrical designs and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues in existing systems and provide technical support to manufacturing and operational teams.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, including schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of test procedures to ensure the reliability and performance of electrical systems.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve the design and performance of our subsea inspection solutions.
