The Technical Certification team at Airbus Defence and Space in Manching, Germany is looking for a
DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering
- Proven experience (more than 10 years) in Airworthiness functions related to Electronics and/or Military Avionics discipline
- Experience interfacing with the Aviation Authorities, will be a plus for the position;
- Excellent negotiation skills, strong interpersonal and consulting skills as well as the ability to understand complex issues and break them down in order to develop solutions independently
- Fluent in English
- Good knowledge of German language will be a plus for the position

Responsibilities:
- Lead the certification, qualification and Continues Airworthiness activities regarding Technical Airworthiness matters for the Electronics and/or Military Avionics technical disciplines
- Provide airworthiness approvals and exercise Design Organisations Approvals (DOA) as well as Military Design Organisation Approvals (MDOA) privileges for the scope of assigned responsibility as delegated by the Office of Chief of Airworthiness
- Be responsible for the timely achievement of certification and qualification milestones through identification of major program technical issues and associated risk management plan, identification of regulation and interpretation issues and identification of safety and certification compliance issues
- Lead the necessary activities for the investigation of incidents and accidents for those aspects regarding Airworthiness technical knowledge
- Provide technical certification knowledge in Electronics and/or Military Avionics to the design organization, or special projects
- Influence the definition of certification policies for the technical discipline under his/her scope, and promote their consistent application across programs, including the participation in the development of new and foreseen technical certification strategies or policies. In particular for novel or unusual design features or for compliance demonstration method improvement
- Represent Airbus Defence and Space in rulemaking and international industrial standardisation working groups for technical certification; Coordinate with Airbus Commercial and Airbus Helicopter Airworthiness Technical Organisations
- Contribute to technical certification de-risking in Airbus Defence and Space Research and Technology (R&T) and Research and Development (R&D) projects related to the Airworthiness Technical
- Develop specialsed training to the overall Design Organization (DO) on technical certification matters under scope
- Gather and disseminate Technical Certification regulatory knowledge and expertise within Airbus Defence and Space, particularly for Compliance Verification Engineers (CVE) and / Designated Airworthiness Engineer (DAE) community, to maintain state of art
