About the OPPORTUNITY
We have a new opportunity for an Electronics Engineer to join our Jindalee Operational Radar Network (JORN) Sustainment program based at Edinburgh Adelaide. This rewarding role will report to the Engineering Team Lead and will be offered on a permanent full time basis. A part time arrangement (minimum 0.6 FTE), will also be considered.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia including working a 9-day fortnight.
The JORN has been a part of our nation’s defence landscape for many decades and comprises three Over-The-Horizon-Radar (OTHR) systems to provide surveillance coverage of our northern border. BAE Systems has been awarded the contract to manage the sustainment and upgrade of this 100 percent Australian solution that is strategically important to Australia’s security.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute electronics/hardware engineering activities including engineering investigations, technical substitutions, safety actions, development of engineering designs, and participation in technical forums
  • Action and complete engineering change tasks, and provide advice to the engineering team and stakeholders on the delivery of engineering change tasks
  • Support the process and management of engineering change integration on the systems/equipment
  • Collaborate effectively with a range of internal and external stakeholders, maintaining a positive culture within the JORN enterprise
  • Produce electronics engineering design documentation and test procedure documentation
  • Seek and share good practice and knowledge to continuously improve electronics engineering practices

About YOU

  • Extensive electronics engineering experience
  • A university degree level engineering qualification in an appropriate discipline – extensive electronics technical experience without a degree will also be considered
  • Electronics engineering design and electronics manufacturing experience
  • The ability to investigate and resolve engineering technical issues
  • Self-motivation, open to new challenges, and the ability to collaborate and communicate well with a variety of stakeholders
