Description:
DXP/HSE is hiring an Electronics Technician who will be responsible for the maintenance of personal monitors, quad head monitors, Rig Rat monitors, hardwire systems and associated gas detection equipment.
This position will be located in our Fort McMurray, Alberta Station.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma
- Experience performing general shop duties including the service and maintenance of equipment
- H2S Alive and First Aid/CPR certifications
- Fire extinguisher maintenance experience an asset
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license with clean driver’s abstract
- Mechanically inclined with the ability to work independently
- Prior experience and aptitude for working with electronics
- Prior experience with drilling or service rigs
Responsibilities:
- Maintain / calibrate and repair, all electronic equipment including personal & portable monitors, wireless and area detection systems, environment monitoring units and CARMEN monitors
- Provide service and sales support relating to rentals and product orientation of personal monitors and gas detection equipment to HSE customers both in house and at customer locations
- Dispatch and track HSE’s monitoring assets for field projects and rentals
- Conduct field installations of electronic gas detection monitoring systems and CARMEN systems
- Provide orientation, training and mentoring to field service staff on gas detection equipment
- Collaborate with Carmen Technicians and Fugitive Emission Technicians for product familiarity
- May be required to create sales quotes and work orders in SPIRA, for rentals or equipment sales.
- Work collaboratively with other stations / departments on anticipated equipment requirementsClean and organize the shop area, maintain parts inventory and electronic board repairs
