RISING GIANT IN AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY SEEKS A EMBEDDED PRODUCT SUPPORT ENGINEER

We’re a successful, small company with over 300 employees based in Louisville, KY. We’re growing rapidly, undergoing a national expansion. We are currently recruiting an Embedded Product Support Engineer to staff our NPI team within our R&D organization in Louisville Kentucky. To qualify for the position you must have experience with embedded product development, have excellent interpersonal skills, be a self-starter, be organized, have a strong technical intuition and ability to learn quickly.

  • Knowledge of RF signal transmission including modulation schemes, digital encoding techniques, packet data formatting, and error correction

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent experience
  • At least 3 years of industry experience that demonstrates success delivering embedded projects

DESIRABLE SKILLS:

  • Experience programming embedded systems
  • Familiarity with bug tracking systems (e.g. Bugzilla)
  • Experience with programming languages (e.g. C, Python, JavaScript, etc.)
  • Familiarity with AWS databases (e.g. Aurora MySQL, DynamoDB)
  • Familiarity with AWS services (e.g. Lambda functions, S3, Route 53, Cognito)
  • Familiarity with front-end web frameworks (e.g. Angular, React, etc.)
  • Familiarity with encryption and hashing algorithms
  • Revision control/code management systems (Git, SVN etc)
  • Familiarity with IDA/Ghidra, ASM, Decompilers
  • Usage of lab equipment including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and spectrum analyzers

Responsibilities:

PURPOSE

The Embedded Product Support Engineer is responsible for managing the launch of a multitude of embedded products and ensures the highest level of quality of these products post-launch. This position is responsible for introducing new products into production, identifying and solving product issues within production, as well as organizing and addressing problems reported from the field.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Embedded Product Support Engineer is a critical member of the New Product Introduction (NPI) team within the R&D organization. They work to ensure all tools, software, production fixtures, and processes are tested and in place for the launch of every new product. They interface regularly with production, technical operations, and sales teams to ensure our products perform reliably in the hands of customers.. The employee dives into the details, interfacing directly with production management, with the operators, and with production machines in order to maintain a robust product line by understanding, determining root cause, and driving to closure any technical or operational failures.

DUTIES CRITICAL TO SUCCESS:

  • Manage creation and testing of new product prototypes prior to rollout, manage and execute firmware deployment, create technical procedures and provide training to operators
  • Manage the design of reliable and robust production equipment, including pcb flash programming fixtures
  • Track down and address root causes of product quality issues
  • Interface with the production to identify areas of improvement
  • Take part in weekly meetings to understand ongoing issues
  • Monitor failure rates, investigating trends and implementing fixes where necessary
  • Undertake any training as deemed necessary by the company
