Position Overview:
As part of the talented Platform/Operating Systems team, you will join the mission to create the best boat system platforms for our customers, bridging hardware and software integration and directly contributing to Navico Group’s NEON platform stack to enable great experiences on the water. This team sits at the forefront of new product development in our Multi-Function Display portfolio, building a platform that enables rapid bring-up and development of new offerings across our three brands: Lowrance, B&G and Simrad.
You will be part of this established team of innovative and inspired engineers to help make this possible. We are committed to providing outstanding boating experiences for our customers in comfort, economy and race/performance on any vessel, from small power to large sail (and everything in between).

- Development of software components, practicing a “you build it, you own it” mentality
- Participate in creating robust, maintainable and extensible systems using software development best practices
- Work closely with a multidisciplinary design team
- Actively contribute to the design, specification, development and testing of software components
- Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement innovative technologies to maximize development efficiency
Diversity of thought and experiences is fundamental when imagining the unimaginable. Certain skillsets/experiences are necessary; however, others can be developed along the way.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
- Professional experience working alongside other engineers in a team environment
- Proficiency in embedded software development using C
- Experience in development of device drivers for the Linux kernel and hardware bring-up
- Experience working with version control software such as Git
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with development for Android Open Source Project (AOSP)
- Experience developing Andoid framework, system services and APIs
- Proficiency in software development using Kotlin or Java
Working Conditions
:
- Hybrid working environment, with most of the time working in Navico Group’s office in Rosedale, Auckland (3 days a week)
