Legal department serves as trusted advisor to the firm today and in the future.
The Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) Capital Markets Legal Group is part of the EMEA Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) Legal Department based in London supporting EMEA Equity Capital Markets (ECM) business.
As a Capital Markets Assistant General Counsel - Vice President supporting the EMEA ECM business, you will be responsible primarily for documenting, reviewing and executing EMEA ECM transactions including IPOs, follow-on offerings, block trades and equity linked instruments. You will closely work with the business teams, risk and control areas and Legal colleagues globally.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, CAPABILITIES, AND SKILLS
- Lawyer licensed to practice law and a member in good standing in the state/jurisdiction in which the position is based or otherwise in compliance with the in-house counsel registration rules of that state/jurisdiction
- Solid European Capital Markets experience in a lead role at a law firm (secondment to an investment bank - an advantage) or an in-house legal team at an investment bank
- Keen interest in transactional, legal and regulatory work
- Ability to think laterally to identify and assess wider risks for the Firm, and to proactively work with the business and other control functions to find solutions
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work both independently and as a team player in fast-paced environment
- English – fluent

Responsibilities:
- Pro-actively support the business groups across EMEA and other offices globally which originate transactions, through the structuring and execution of transactions including review and negotiation of legal documents, providing legal advice, and providing guidance on risk assessment and solutions
- Liaise with the business teams, other control areas and colleagues in Legal in setting/maintaining documentation standards, internal policies, practice guidelines, and monitoring relevant legal, regulatory and documentation developments
- Pro-actively share experience and know-how with colleagues in Legal, where appropriate globally. Provide training to the business and within Legal
- Participate in Legal and Firm-wide projects
