Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and strategic leader to join our team as the EMEA Chief Operating Officer (COO) for the Client Coverage Group (CCG) at State Street Global Advisors (SSGA). This role will lead a team in EMEA responsible for delivering operational excellence, optimizing processes, and ensuring strategic alignment across our institutional and intermediary distribution teams in the EMEA region. The EMEA COO will enhance our client-centric approach, lead cross-functional teams, and collaborate closely with key stakeholders to deliver scalable and innovative solutions that drive client satisfaction. This position requires a strong operational leader with a track record of driving efficiency and process improvement in a client-centric environment.
What you will be responsible for

As Client Coverage Group EMEA COO, you will:

  • Drive Efficiency and Effectiveness Across SSGA’s Client Facing Activities and Interactions:
  • Lead and drive operational excellence across the EMEA distribution teams, focusing on continuous process improvement, efficiency, and scalability
  • Implement and standardize global process frameworks to ensure consistent and seamless operations across all distribution channels in the region
  • Optimize operational workflows to support both institutional and intermediary client engagement, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction and operational efficiency
  • Lead & Collaborate on Cross-Functional Initiatives:
  • Work closely with internal teams, including sales, marketing, compliance, legal, and IT, to ensure alignment and coordination in delivering client solutions
  • Foster a culture of collaboration and empowerment within the distribution teams, encouraging innovation, efficiency, and accountability across all functions
  • Lead cross-functional projects and initiatives to ensure smooth execution of business plans and drive operational improvements that support growth
  • Provide Strategic Support for EMEA Distribution Teams:
  • Provide strategic and operational support to the Institutional and Intermediary distribution teams, ensuring alignment with global and regional goals
  • Work closely with senior distribution leadership to drive business outcomes, improve performance, and identify areas for growth across the EMEA region
  • Collaborate on the development and execution of distribution strategies to enhance client engagement, retention, and satisfaction
  • Enhance Client-Centric Mindset Within CCG EMEA Team and Across Broader Organization:
  • Champion a “client-first” approach across distribution teams, ensuring that operational processes are designed to meet client needs and expectations.
  • Manage client communications in collaboration with Marketing Communications and CCG leadership
  • Use client feedback (including Net Promoter Score (NPS) and other insights) to identify areas of improvement and develop actionable strategies to strengthen relationships and enhance the overall client experience
  • Drive initiatives to remove friction in client engagements, leveraging IT solutions and process efficiencies to improve ease of interaction and service delivery
  • Drive Innovation & Continuous Improvement:
  • Lead efforts to innovate processes, systems, and tools that will allow the distribution function to scale effectively across the EMEA region.
  • Identify and implement technological solutions to enhance efficiency and improve client interactions, ensuring that the distribution organization is future-ready and adaptable to changing market demands
  • Regularly assess the performance of distribution operations, identifying opportunities for further optimization and improvement
  • Establish clear KPIs and performance metrics to track the effectiveness of operational initiatives, ensuring that goals are being met and any obstacles are swiftly addressed.

Who we are looking for:

  • Expert in operational process optimization, process design, and driving efficiency at scale
  • Strong project management skills with a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and deliver results
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with both internal teams and clients, ensuring alignment with client needs and business objectives
  • In-depth knowledge of leveraging client feedback (e.g., NPS) to continuously improve operational and client-facing processes
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and inspire teams across diverse cultures and functions
  • Experience in building high-performance teams and empowering leaders at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to think strategically while being hands-on with operational execution
  • A track record of driving innovation and scaling operations within a complex and fast-paced environment

This role is based in London, England and reports to the Chief Operating Officer of the Client Coverage Group.
