State Street Global Advisors (SSGA) is the fourth largest asset management firm globally. Global Funds Management is responsible for all treasury, fund administration, and reporting for our registered and unregistered funds globally. This includes valuation, board liaison and reporting, financial and regulatory reporting, taxation, expense accruals, service provider oversight, new product. As such we are looking for a Senior Analyst to provide oversight of financial reporting for our European mutual funds and ETFs. Candidates must evidence a working knowledge of GAAP and IFRS principles as well as an understanding of European fund structures. Successful candidates will demonstrate a continuous improvement and innovation mindset and be technologically savvy.
Why this role is important to us
Due to the increased client and European regulatory reporting requirements as it relates to fee and fund cost disclosures, a need has arisen for an individual with a strong fund accounting or audit background to join the team.
The individual will take the lead in production of the fund annual and interim financial statements, coordinating key stakeholders such as the financial reporting team and external auditor, reviewing fund data and ensuring disclosures contained in fund financials comply with local regulatory requirements, horizon scanning for future legislation changes and assessing downstream impacts and requirements for financials disclosures. The individual will be expected to undertake continuous assessment of efficiencies and enhancements of controls supporting the process The strategic objective of the role is to ensure the funds continue to comply with fund accounting best practice, and run the production, approval, regulatory filing and publication of annual and interim financial statements.

What you will be responsible for
As European Financial Reporting Manager you will:
- Be responsible for managing and coordinating the external auditors and service providers that contribute to the financial reporting of our European funds.
- Oversee the fund administrator’s production of fund financial statements
- Develop tools for effective monitoring of funds’ total expense ratios and profitability, liaising with service providers where appropriate
- Develop procedures for effective implementation and monitoring of funds non-standard fee arrangements (e.g. all-in fee, fee caps).
- Stay abreast of market developments and best practice standards through building strong relationships with auditors and other service providers
- Advise the rest of the business on best practice in fund accounting matters (e.g. accounting, performance fees, income equalisation, accounting standards, prospectus disclosures, etc ….)
- Enhance and harmonise the global financial reporting framework.
- Ensure timely submissions of all filings and securing inputs from SMEs as necessary.
- Provide support to the Irish DP for Capital and Financial Management on financial related matters as necessary.
- Maintaining and fostering cost discipline on our external providers, acting as key contact for any fee negotiations and engagements.
- Create, maintain, review and update appropriate procedures and policies.
- Ensure timely execution of all BAU processes with a focus on minimising enterprise risk.

Education & Preferred Qualifications
- You should have an Accounting qualification + min. 5 years relevant experience in fund accounting or fund accounting oversight or related finance function
- Powerpoint, Excel and Word proficient
- Knowledge of European fund regulation (e.g. UCITS V, AIFMD) and accounting regimes (GAAP/ IFRS).
