The EMEA Sr EHS Engineer is responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive EHS programs, ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations and best practices. This person will be the point of contact of all EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) EHS escalations and processes and will be able to engage in regional EHS continuous improvement activities and facilitate these concepts into action. This position is part of the Global EHS Team and will be located on-site at our Amsterdam, London, or Barcelona offices, with travel as needed to support EMEA operations.
THE ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB INCLUDE:
- Degree in Occupational Health, Safety, Engineering, or a related field (a minimum of five years of experience in EHS) with a strong focus on managing regional EHS policies, standards, programs, or procedures.
- Conducting risk assessments to identify and mitigate hazards, including driving remediation of any safety gaps identified from assessments.
- Acting as the subject matter expert on all EHS matters, and regionally advise business units to ensure compliance with local regulatory law.
- Strong computer-based skills, able to produce reports and working documents to an exceptional standard.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
TRAVEL, MOTOR VEHICLE RECORD & PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to travel – up to 30%, predominantly within EMEA territories
- Ability to lift, move or carry equipment up to 35lb
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and oversee EHS compliance programs to maintain regulatory compliance.
- Lead EHS improvement projects and manage change initiatives to enhance safety protocols.
- Conduct EHS investigations and deliver effective EHS training programs.
- Perform workplace safety and compliance inspections, ensuring all necessary documentation is up to date.
- Accurately assess physical and health hazards to mitigate risks effectively.
