DETAILS

  • Department: Critical Care Transport
  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts, Full-time, Rotating shifts, Monday - Friday, Saturday and Sunday
  • Hospital: Ascension St. Vincent
  • Location: Indianapolis, IN

REQUIREMENTS

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Drivers License obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • One or more of the following required:

    • Emergency Medical Tech credentialed from the Indiana Department of Homeland Security obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Emergency Medical Tech credentialed from the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education:

  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate’s degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Responsibilities:

Provide support treatment, care and evaluation of patients on scene and during transport.

  • Arrive to the scene of an emergency, determines the situation, and develops a plan of action.
  • Use appropriate medical equipment and comprehends the severity of the injury.
  • Monitor patient condition and perform data collection. Communicate findings and patient condition to Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Assist with the mobilization, ambulation and transport of patients.
