Description:

JOB SUMMARY:

The post holder will undertake assessment and treatment of patients in an Urgent Care setting who may present with complex and/or chronic illnesses and/or injury; to determine a clinical diagnosis, treatment and appropriate discharge as indicated as well as maintaining patient records.
To ensure a high quality patient centred service.

Responsibilities:

  • Undertake highly specialised clinical assessments, diagnose, treat and discharge patients with a wide range of minor illnesses and injuries.
  • Statutory and voluntary disciplines/groups in order to provide a seamless service to the patients and their carers and prevent hospital admission where urgent care is required.
  • To ensure that patient records and documentation are maintained in line with NMC.
  • Awareness of and compliance with all relevant company policies/guidelines, e.g. prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safety, to ensure that the practice complies with NHS/NHS England/CCG
  • Ensure safe storage, rotation and disposal of vaccines and drugs is undertaken.
  • To treat minor injuries without necessarily having to refer to a doctor.
  • Qualified to assess, diagnose, treat and discharge patients with certain injuries
  • Reporting potential risks identified
  • To adapt communication skills to meet the needs of patients who may have barriers to understanding
