We are seeking a proactive and organised Emergency Planning Coordinator to join our Properties, Facilities and Development (PF&D) – Safer Community Team. In this critical role, you will provide professional advice and coordination for emergency planning and preparedness across the Curtin community. This is your opportunity to make a tangible impact by ensuring our campus is prepared for emergencies and equipped to respond effectively.
KEY CRITERIA
We are looking for a candidate with:
- Demonstrated experience in emergency response and training development, ideally within a large, multi-disciplined organisation.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
- Organisational skills to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain accurate records.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant IT tools.
- A solid understanding of emergency management systems and arrangements in Western Australia.
WORK REQUIREMENTS
- Flexibility to work outside standard office hours when required.
- A level of fitness appropriate for the demands of the role.
- Availability for occasional interstate or overseas travel.

Responsibilities:
As the Emergency Planning Coordinator, you will:
- Coordinate, develop, and promote emergency management programs through training and awareness campaigns.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including emergency services personnel, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
- Assist in developing and reviewing emergency response procedures and training needs.
- Conduct building evacuation drills and manage emergency response activities.
- Act as a Forward Liaison Officer during large-scale emergencies, facilitating communication between Curtin and emergency services.
