Your opportunity:
Our Digital & Information group have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Emerging Technology and Innovation Lead to join our newly established Digital Utility team.
Digital & Information is responsible for digitally enabling Urban Utilities today and digitally transforming future capability to enable provision of digital services to our customers, community and people. The group is accountable to formulate and execute Urban Utilities’ digital & data strategy, deliver Urban Utilities digital portfolio and provide day-to-day operations of information technology (IT), operating technology (OT), data, and the Internet of Things (IOT), including security, infrastructure management, system administration, network operations, and support services.
Reporting to the Senior Manager Digital Strategy & Planning, the Emerging Technology & Innovation
Lead is accountable for managing the pipeline of emerging technologies and driving innovation processes to support Urban Utilities’ strategic objectives. This role ensures the identification, evaluation, and implementation of new technologies and innovative practices that can enhance organisational capabilities and deliver value. The Emerging Technology & Innovation Lead will foster a culture of innovation, collaborate with stakeholders, and integrate emerging technologies into the
organisation’s strategic framework.
Success in this role will be measured by the effectiveness of innovation processes, the successful
integration of emerging technologies, compliance with regulatory requirements, and stakeholder
satisfaction. Key performance indicators will include the number and impact of innovative initiatives,
the adoption rate of emerging technologies, and the effectiveness of innovation management
processes.
About you:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field, complimented by relevant industry knowledge and experience
- Qualifications in innovation management or emerging technologies are highly desirable
- Extensive experience in innovation management and emerging technologies within large and complex organisations..
- Demonstrated experience in leading and managing pilot programs and innovation initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of digital technologies, including IT, OT, data, and IOT domains.
- Demonstrated ability to engage and collaborate with stakeholders and influence the adoption of innovative solutions
- Demonstrated experience in leading and managing teams in the implementation of innovative solutions
Performance of ‘on call’ duties are an inherent requirement of this role. This requires that the employee must be available to be on-call and to attend to work matters, both in person and remotely, outside of normal working hours, including evenings, weekends and public holidays, as reasonably required to fulfill the requirements of the position. The days, times, duration and frequency of on call arrangements may be subject to change, including at short notice, as required by Urban Utilities’ operational needs as applying from time to time. At all times whilst on-call, you must be fit for duty, contactable, and able to respond, including the ability to physically attend if required, to the operational needs of the business within a reasonable timeframe and in a safe manner. The remuneration for the role has been calculated to include compensation for the requirement to remain available to perform work during on call periods and for the performance of work outside the ordinary hours of work as part of on call processes and otherwise. In some instances, additional compensation and remuneration may apply.
