Job Description
The Alkimos Seawater Desalination Plant will guarantee Perth’s future water needs for generations to come. To reduce our dependence on rainfall and groundwater and support the growing population, Water Corporation has formed the Alkimos SeaWater Alliance, which includes ACCIONA Construction Australia, ACCIONA Agua and Jacobs.
The Alliance will design, construct, operate and maintain the Plant which will produce 50 billion litres of drinking water per year, with provision to expand by an additional 50 billion litres per year in the future.
Construction of the Alkimos Seawater Desalination Plant has commenced and with several years of construction ahead of us, the Alliance is seeking an ER/IR Advisor to provide support to the project team.
Key accountabilities for the position:
- Conduct investigations and make recommendations about potential outcomes
- Assist the construction and safety teams to coordinate Right of Entries
- Develop policies/procedures related to ER/IR
- Develop and conduct ER/IR related training to project personnel
- Assist commercial team with procurement to manage IR risk and provide advice on labour rates
- Auditing subcontractors for compliance with payroll, ER/IR and sham contracting legislation
- Interpretation of industrial instruments and employment legislation
- Supporting with generalist HR on an as needs basis
Required Skills and Competencies
- Experience providing ER/IR advice and support in a relevant industry/environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills enabling you to maintain effective communication at all levels across a diverse spectrum of communication styles.
- High energy, strong work ethic and a hunger to absorb experience and grow in your career.
- Experience with labour rate calculations will be advantageous, but not a pre-requisite.
