ABOUT THE JOB

The University of East London invites individuals like you to join our dynamic People and Culture Directorate as an Employee Relations Advisor.
In this role, you will be instrumental in delivering an outstanding service within our centre of excellence model, championing best practices, and upholding a positive reputation for the institution and our key stakeholders. Reporting to the ER Lead, your responsibilities will encompass providing timely advice to managers and staff on UEL policies, procedures, and terms and conditions of service. You will actively engage in complex casework, coaching managers to achieve the best and fair outcomes with compassionate approach, enabled by fostering effective relationships with senior managers, line managers, and trade union representatives. Your duties will include delivering consistent, practical, effective, and appropriate HR interventions on ER issues, such as disciplinary matters, grievances, bullying and harassment, capability assessments, change consultations and absence cases. Furthermore, you will offer coaching and case planning advice to Investigating Officers, ensuring quality control of reports within service SLA/KPIs.
The role necessitates a solid understanding of employment law and its application , involvement in delivering HR training courses, and contributing to the effective communication of HR-related information. If you possess experience in providing HR/ER advice aligned with relevant policies and legislation along with excellent organisational skills to manage high volumes of casework and queries, we would be delighted to hear from you.
