Description:

Are you outgoing with a fearless personality and like to connect and build relationships with our community? The Arc of Spokane is seeking an Employment Consultant who will offer an array of employment support for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities based on Customized Employment and job development. The Employment Consultant position will network with local businesses developing relationships with community employers to support our job seekers in finding and retaining inclusive employment opportunities.

  • Possess initiative, creativity, strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Keen organizational skills
  • Demonstrate integrity, diplomacy, patience, and sensitivity to the needs of our clients
  • Be able to work independently as well as in teams
  • A sales/marketing background is helpful

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum age of 18
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must pass all required background checks
  • Must have valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and reliable transportation

Compensation: $23.00-$25.30. DOE starting range, entire scale to $29.90 per hour, Non-exempt, Full-time 40 hours per week Monday-Friday typically 8:30-5:00pm, may include nights and weekends. Flexibility is a must, work hours are driven by client need and vary depending on networking with local businesses and employer networking groups.

  • All pay is based on longevity at The Arc of Spokane; thus, the starting pay for this position is $23.00 per hour.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the discovery process with the people on your case load and participate in the development of an individualized employment plan.
  • Network with community businesses and build relationships and research local businesses for employment opportunities.
  • Work closely with the job seeker and their team.
  • Perform job assessments and preparation activities with the job seeker such as resume building and developing interview skills.
  • Assisting in resume preparation, application submission, and interview preparation to support clients in skill building to match clients to jobs in the community that fit their needs and abilities, ensuring success for both the employee and the employer.
  • Complete all daily case notes, plans, and reports in a timely manner.
  • Join and participate in local networking groups.
