About the Role
You will advise and support HR and RELX businesses in the UK and EMEA on the full range of labour and employment law matters that affect large, multi-national employers. You will work with and across RELX businesses to help them fulfil strategies and achieve business goals.

Responsibilities

  • Providing legal advice and service by combining employment law expertise with business acumen.
  • Offering general employment law advice on various topics including HR policies, disciplinary processes, and restructurings. Advising on data subject access requests, employment litigation, contingent labour, and executive recruitment/terminations.
  • Advising on internal investigations involving employment-related issues.
  • Conducting training on employment law issues for HR and management.
  • Supervising outside counsel and drafting legal documents such as employment contracts, settlement agreements, RCAs, and HR policies.
  • Supporting HR and Associate General Counsel – Employment on key changes in employment law.
  • Providing advice and support on internal sensitive HR/legal related projects for the UK and EMEA.

Requirements

  • Possess extensive experience (PQE) as a UK employment lawyer within a law firm or as in-house counsel.
  • Be knowledgeable about EMEA employment-related legal systems and legislation.
  • Possess working knowledge of privacy law, mergers and acquisitions and experience with employee benefits and compensation programs.
  • Have excellent oral and written communication skills, including document drafting abilities.
  • Have the ability to promote a compliance-based business culture.
  • Demonstrate keen attention to detail and the ability to exercise good judgment.
  • Be capable of managing complex, ambiguous situations and conflicts independently or as part of a team.
  • Possess exceptional organisational, project management, and stakeholder management skills.
