An exciting Employment Officer opportunity has arisen within the Virtual School’s Employment Support team. This role with join an experienced existing team of Employment Officer’s supporting care experienced young people aged 12-25 across Lancashire into education, employment or training. Experience of careers advice will be advantageous.
The role is permanent and full time, 37 hours per week. You will be expected to work flexibly across Lancashire but with a focus on the central areas of the county around Preston. You will use County Hall, Preston as your base but working agilely in schools and home working. We are looking to recruit a highly motivated individual who has experience of working with children from vulnerable backgrounds and can deliver good quality careers support to all of our supported age range.
Candidates must demonstrate proven experience of working with a caseload and knowledge of the needs of children from care. The work will involve delivery of Careers, Education, Information and Guidance within schools from Year 8 - 11. The Careers Level 6 qualification is advantageous, but training will be given for candidates not holding this qualification. The work also involves working with 16–24-year-olds and supporting them into employability with supportive employers. The work will involve travel across Lancashire meeting young people, partners, schools and businesses to meet outcomes..

Responsibilities:
