JOB DESCRIPTION

The employment tax team provides consulting services, compliance, technical advice and analysis on all aspects of employment taxes to a range of clients from entrepreneurs and small businesses, to multinational organisations across all industries. We advise on regulatory and legislative change and help clients to manage their domestic and international employment tax risks effectively, so enthusiasm to understand our clients problems and help them to make informed decisions is vital in this role.

Role overview

  • Using technical skills and practical experience to prepare technical and commercially focused advice on matters such as SG, payroll tax, FBT and PAYG withholding
  • Working collaboratively with Vialto colleagues to deliver fringe benefit tax returns, payroll tax annual reconciliations, superannuation guarantee charge statements and work cover rateable remuneration declarations, and related deliverables within designated deadlines.
  • Analysing payroll codes for SG, payroll tax, FBT, STP and PAYG withholding obligations
  • Assisting taxpayers with audits or SRO disputes
  • Staying up to date with employer governance regulations and best practice and keeping clients informed of any changes
  • Having a keen interest in technology and being open to learning how it may be used to drive data driven solutions
  • Developing client and colleague relationships both through face to face and virtual means, as well as attending internal and external networking events
  • Manage your immediate team and delegate work to junior staff. Manage upwards through clear and consistent communication.
  • Working within a team both globally and nationally, whilst also being able to work independently
  • Gain a broad understanding of other service lines within the business to identify cross-functional issues and collaborate with other Mobility SMEs for integrated solutions.
  • Analyze market trends and competitive landscape to identify potential growth areas and opportunities.

Preferred skills and experience:

  • A commitment to delivering great client service with a focus on clear and timely communication
  • Strong analytical skills and an interest in using technology to analyse client data and improve the usability of data for clients
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience dealing with employment taxes and social security issues regarding different populations of workers e.g. domestic, international business visitors, contractors and cross-border commuters
  • Producing consulting advice on a wide variety of employment tax topics.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business, or a related field.
  • 1 - 5 years of experience in tax preferred, with a focus on employment tax compliance and consulting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
