REQUIREMENTS
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- Advanced Life Support obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- BLS Provider specializing in Basic Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
- Certification specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
- Drivers License obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
- Licensed Emergency Medical Tech credentialed from the Florida Department of Health obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Education:
- High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate’s degree, or Technical degree required. Emergency Vehicle Operator Course (EVOC) obtained within 30 days of hire date.
Responsibilities:
Drive an ambulance to transport ill or injured patients to the appropriate facility.
- Ensure safe transportation of ill or injured patients.
- Maintain ambulance in clean condition and working order. Perform regular routine inspections prior to each shift to ensure safe operation of the vehicle.
- Assist with stocking the ambulance with needed supplies and ensure on-board equipment is in workingorder.
- Perform the duties of an EMT or Paramedic, depending on qualifications, as needed.
