Description:
REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Ability to assess adult and pediatric patients in pre-hospital setting.
- Ability to successfully perform BLS interventions in accordance with protocols
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficient IT skills including use of electronic medical records systems
ESSENTIAL CAPABILITIES
- Ability to function with accuracy and efficiency in high pressure or emergent situations.
- Ability to respond calmly in emergency situations.
- Cultural sensitivity and awareness with the willingness to work with a foreign national patient population
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

- Must be able to manage and provide concise directions to supporting staff.
- Ability to quickly adapt to changing work conditions and responsibilities
REQUIRED WORK EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 1 year of EMT experience in a busy 911 system
- Experience in a remote setting is preferred
- Prior military or fire experience preferred
QUALIFICATIONS
- Possession of a EMT Level Certification from National Registry (NREMT) - Required
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) - Required
- A valid passport is required and must be in your possession prior to deploying.
- To be considered for the position, you must have at least 18 months left on your passport before renewal.
- You must also maintain that passport during your stay.

Responsibilities:
OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The EMT will utilize their knowledge and proficiency of evidenced-based medical practice and Intl.SOS
protocols to manage unexpected and emergent situations and treat a variety of injuries and illnesses in a
prompt and professional manner. The EMT will support the provision of direct and indirect medical care to
patients in emergent situations and will competently function as a member of the team to provide patient
centred medical care in the pre-hospital setting.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide pre-hospital emergency medical care of simple and multiple system traumas.
- Assist the Paramedic in determining the nature and extent of illness or injury and establishing priorities for required emergency care.
- Assist the Paramedic in rendering emergency medical care to all patients.
- Operate all emergency vehicles as the primary driver with due diligence for the safety of others.
- Restocking EMS units once supplies are received as well as assisting other clinic operators with restocking
- Maintains equipment, tools, and protective clothing in a serviceable ready-response condition
- Performs other duties and assignments as required
