The role
End to End Architect
London or Manchester – hybrid working model (2 days a week office based, 3 days a week remote)

Fantastic opportunity to secure a permanent E2E Architect role in Smart DCC. The E2E Architect role requires an experienced Architect to develop, maintain and present the evolving end to end architecture of Smart DCCs Smart Metering Infrastructure. The E2E Architect is a leader for DCC’s most critical projects or services. The E2E Architect will be a technologist at-heart, passionate about planning and building compelling services and products. The E2E Architect will stay ahead of innovative technologies and demonstrate understanding through effective and rapid delivery. The choices made by the E2E Architect make will define the fitness for purpose of DCC’s IT capabilities and ultimately the success of the business.

What will you be doing?

  • Being the point of call for all architecture aspects of an IT Project.
  • Ensure project solution architecture is documented using the templates, standard tooling and conforms to standards.
  • Ownership of the end-to-end technical architecture, providing technical leadership to other domain architects (applications, data, infrastructure, security, service) to ensure overall cohesion
  • Coordinate a large team of third-party qualified architects to achieve the requested throughput of deliverables and products
  • Ownership of key programme technical design artefacts – High Level Designs, Low Level Designs and Interface Specifications
  • Working as a team with the Programme’s leadership and Functional Leads to engage with senior stakeholders. Presenting and discussing the solution and design to those and taking the lead on challenges raised.

What are we looking for?

  • SMIP and SMETS1 experience is very important to being able to perform this role
  • Experience of leading design activities for complex, multi-technology, multi-party solutions.
  • Experience in multiple architectural domains, preferably applications, cloud and infrastructure
  • Able to see and articulate the bigger picture, but also capable of delving into the detail where necessary to get the job done
  • Experienced in ing architectural tools and methods
  • Excellent stakeholder management experience, both internal and external
  • Experience of operating and providing business solutions within a regulatory environment
