Description:
We are looking for someone who can join our reception team with all reception duties including note tracking, tracing and clinic preparation. You will be required to book and discharge patients into the department as well as make follow up appointments.
To provide comprehensive clerical support to the Unit. To communicate appropriate and relevant information to other members of the multidisciplinary team. An understanding of the importance of teamwork.
1. To work as a member of the Endoscopy Unit Clerical team. To extract notes from Medical Records storage areas in advance of Endoscopy admissions; to liaise with staff of all disciplines to obtain notes in a professional manner and with an appropriate degree of
urgency.
2. To maintain the manual and computerised systems, indicating location of notes.
3. To report any faults with the computer systems to the appropriate people.
4. To always ensure that all patient data is treated with confidentiality and filed accordingly. To be particularly sensitive to disclosure of patient information in an open ward environment and to ensure that patients’ wishes are respected re: disclosure of information.
5. To prepare notes in advance of admission to include the insertion of various papers and correspondence.
6. To deal with telephone enquiries, greet patients as they arrive, admitting and discharging patients on the system in a friendly and professional manner and making any follow-up outpatient appointments.
7. To cover the needs of the service regarding reception duties in the event of sickness and annual leave.
8. To carry out routine and specific clerical duties, as required, and to meet the changing service requirements.
