Job Title: Endoscopy Technician – Procedure Center
GENERAL SUMMARY:
As an Endoscopy Technician at Novant Health’s Procedure Center, you will play a vital role in assisting with endoscopic procedures and ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety. Your expertise will contribute to a seamless and efficient workflow, supporting both the medical team and our patients throughout their procedures.
EDUCATION:
- High school diploma/GED; completion of a training program for endoscopy technicians or relevant healthcare experience preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
- Previous experience in an endoscopy or surgical setting is preferred, with a strong understanding of endoscopic procedures and instruments.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain endoscopic equipment and instruments, ensuring all are sterile, functional, and ready for use.
- Assist the medical team during endoscopic procedures by providing necessary tools and support to ensure efficient and safe operations.
- Educate patients about the endoscopy process, addressing any questions or concerns to ensure their comfort and understanding.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and comfort levels during procedures, promptly reporting any changes to the nursing staff or physicians.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and infection control practices to maintain a sterile environment.
- Document all procedures and patient interactions accurately in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Assist in patient positioning and preparation for endoscopic procedures, ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Participate in the cleaning, disinfection, and maintenance of endoscopic equipment and work areas according to established protocols.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to improve workflows and patient outcomes, contributing to quality improvement initiatives.
- Stay updated on advancements in endoscopic techniques and technologies, ensuring best practices are followed.
