Description:

This position will play a key role in delivering Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust’s (SCFT) multi award-winning sustainability programme, Care Without Carbon, which includes working both within SCFT but also in a consultancy-based role with our partner organisations across Sussex, Surrey and beyond.
Energy and water consumption are large areas of expenditure and therefore, specifically, the post-holder will be responsible for day-to-day supplier invoice processing which involves validation for accuracy, arranging for any errors to be resolved accordingly and the storing of this vital data within our energy management database. The post-holder will also assist with broader analysis and reporting, and the development and implementation of project work across core areas of the CWC programme.
Energy and water management – assisting the implementation of SCFT’s Energy and Water Management Policy across the Trust and any partner healthcare organisations as required. This chiefly includes management of day-to-day energy and water invoice validation, liaison with energy and water suppliers and associated resolution of any queries that may arise. It will also entail delivering training to staff, assisting with maintaining legal compliance with respect to relevant regulations and coordinating and supporting on site visits.
Energy and water conservation projects – assist other members of the Energy Team with identifying opportunities for, and supporting the design and delivery of, projects that further the Trust’s goals around energy and water management.
Reporting and data management – taking responsibility for storing and co-ordinating data for key aspects of the Energy Team’s internal and external energy, water and other reporting processes, including designing and managing reporting tools, interrogating and interpreting data and delivering key performance indicators relating to energy and water consumption.
The post-holder will work as part of a wider multi-disciplinary team that also provides integrated sustainability, energy and carbon management services to NHS and other public sector organisations across the UK. They may have responsibility for delivering project work with and on behalf of other NHS providers within the Sussex Integrated Care System.
