WHAT YOU WILL DO
At Volvo Buses, we invite you to be a part of the transformative journey of our company, influencing not just the transport industry but society at large. To achieve that we expect from you:
- Understanding vehicle energy/fuel usage and application: As an Energy Management Engineer, you will analyze and optimize energy usage in vehicles to improve fuel efficiency.
- Collaborating with various stakeholders: Work closely with product development teams and other Volvo Group business areas to develop concepts and systems that enhance energy management.
- Reviewing and updating test and validation methodology: Improve the methods used for testing and validating energy management systems.
- Conducting simulations: Use tools like Matlab, Simulink, and Excel to perform vehicle-level simulations, providing input for product development and complying with EU CO2 regulations.
- Participating in VBC energy efficiency and CO2 field: Stay up-to-date with industry trends and regulations, acting as a representative for VBC in energy efficiency and CO2 emissions.
- Estimating energy consumption: Use your knowledge of vehicle systems, simulations, tests, and real-world data to estimate energy consumption.
- Participating in expeditions: Join expeditions to align on energy management strategies and initiatives.
- Promoting sustainability in energy management: Contribute to promoting sustainability in energy management practices.

- Knowledge of vehicle drivelines, interior climate systems, and auxiliary systems: Solid understanding of how different vehicle systems impact energy usage.
- Knowledge in Matlab/Simulink: Essential for conducting simulations and analyzing energy management systems.
- Programming skills in Python and SQL: Beneficial for data analysis and system development
