SKILLS & GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Understanding of renewable energy and electrical design
  • Understanding of utility rates, specifically demand charges and time-of-use energy
  • Basic understanding of technical electrical drawings, reports, and documentation
  • Well-organized and responsible with an aptitude in problem-solving
  • Bring a positive, “can do” attitude to the position
  • Strong communication skills to effectively communicate with co-workers and external contacts
  • Able to work independently, display creativity, exercise sound judgment, and demonstrate initiative
  • Proficient computer skills (MS Office)
  • [EL] Experience a Business Intelligence (BI) Tools such as Tableau, Spotfire, PowerBI, Excel is a plus.
  • Proficiency / experience interacting with databases.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • College degree preferred with 1-3 years of experience in related disciplines
  • Renewable Energy industry experience
  • Data analysis experience

Responsibilities:

THE ROLE

The Energy Systems Performance Analyst is responsible for keeping watch over the Energy Toolbase fleet of assets operating in the field. They will track performance metrics and create new metrics over time to ensure the systems are performing as expected. As shortcomings are discovered, it will be the responsibility of the Energy Systems Performance Analyst is to determine what has prevented the system from maintaining expectations, record findings for historical tracking, and determine the next steps for resolution. Certain issues will require action from other departments for appropriate resolution, this employee will coordinate the involvement of those different teams. The success of this role will result in the overall improvement of the Acumen EMS economic performance.
This position can either be located in Calgary, Alberta, Canada or Asheville, North Carolina, US.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor & report on performance of fleet of energy storage systems
  • Historic tracking of performance shortcomings
  • Internal coordination between teams for issue resolution
  • Comparative analysis of assorted energy storage manufacturers
  • Analyze environmental impact on ESS performance
  • Process improvement surrounding performance analysis
  • Implement performance metric tracking viewable to internal stakeholders
  • Support customer facing deliverables for site performance
