Description:

The Higher Education Progression Partnership South Yorkshire (HeppSY) works with local schools and colleges to reduce the gap in higher education participation between the most and least represented groups. HeppSY is funded through the Office for Students Uni Connect programme. HeppSY has an excellent reputation for delivering high quality, impartial and impactful widening participation and outreach activities through its own programmes and from the effective collaboration with key partners including both local universities.
We are looking for a part-time (0.5) Engagement Coordinator to join our team to help coordinate and provide operational delivery for our collaborative project with South Yorkshire Children’s University. This is a fixed term contract that will end on July 31st 2025.
GOALS is an attainment raising breakfast club project designed to develop students’ independent learning, goal setting and problem solving through a series of fun, challenging activities. During the course of the project, participating KS3 students will be guided to research and plan a funding application for a school enrichment resource or club.

You will be able to demonstrate:

  • Knowledge/experience of programme coordination and delivery in higher education, further education or school sector
  • Experience of organising, supporting and delivering events/projects/training
  • Working effectively in an environment of complex regulations and procedures (e.g. data protection regulations, child protection and safeguarding)
  • Working independently, proactively dealing with stakeholder issues and resolution.
  • Commitment to flexible travel in South Yorkshire to deliver early morning sessions in schools.
  • Commitment to helping with the delivery of other projects if required.

If you are offered this post, you will be subject to an enhanced with barred lists check by the Disclosure and Barring Service. A criminal record will not necessarily prevent you from working at Sheffield Hallam University but its relevance to the duties of the post will need to be assessed before the appointment is confirmed.
