Description:

Engine Test and Evaluation Analyst
Minimum Education Requirements:
Two/three Year Community College Diploma in Automotive coupled with Licensed Automotive Service Technician (Certificate 310S or 310T) and CFC Ozone Depleting Handling Certificate. (Successful candidates will be required to provide proof of degree completion for the highest level of education attained. If the degree was obtained from a school outside of Canada, an Education Credential Assessment report showing Canadian equivalency is also required.)

Other Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in using measuring equipment, advanced diagnostic equipment and applying it in the operation, dismantling and reassembling of engines, transmissions and other powertrain.
  • Proficiency in the use of computers and associated software.
  • Proficiency in English Language both written and oral.
  • Shift work is required to support 24/7 operations.
  • Possess excellent communication skills.

  • Install engine, transmission, other powertrain and its accessories on the test cells including instrumentation of various associated transducers and actuators.
  • Operate an advanced dynamometer test equipment to perform functional, durability and development tests on engines, transmissions and other powertrain. In conjunction with Test Engineer build / develop automated test schedule including safety and operating alarms as per Engineering Specifications.
  • Use various diagnostic tools to resolve and adjust parameters so that the engine, transmission or other powertrain will function according to the specified Engineering Specifications outlined.
  • Perform inspections of engines, transmissions and other powertrain by systematically dismantling them into its various components. It includes visual and dimensional checks on characteristics as specified in the Teardown Analysis Guide.
  • Perform calibration of instrumentation and measuring devices on a specified period as required.
  • Perform Preventive Maintenance on the equipment in the dynamometer test cells according to the outlined schedule.
  • Build experimental / development engines, transmission and other powertrain according to the given procedures, instructions and engineering specifications. It includes various measurements and calculations such as compression ratio and others.
  • Interface with various Engineering disciplines with regards to specifications, procedures and various engineering tools.
  • Diagnose engine, transmission, other powertrain and vehicle system related issues using the latest advanced tools. In conjunction with the engineers, define root cause and resolve all associated issues.
  • Work with minimum supervision and capable of making decisions based on critical assessment of existing conditions.
  • Perform VO & warranty teardown analysis related duties.
  • Cleaning, organizing of setup parts and miscellaneous duties as required.
  • Perform work in the areas of future technologies such as Batteries, e_Motors, BEV, HEV, PHEV and related fields.
