Description:

Organisation - TFL ENGINEERING
Job - General
Position Type - Full Time
Job Title: Engineer Band 3 - RAM (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability)
Location: Stratford / Hybrid working*
Salary: £53,000 - £55,000
Band: Band 3

Contract Type: TfL, Permanent

  • Hybrid working within this role enables a balance of 50 per cent of time split between the office and home over a 4-week period. Hybrid working arrangements can evolve subject to business requirements.

Transport for London (TfL) Engineers are always looking forward. Join us in our Central Engineering team where as well as maintaining legacy assets, you’ll deliver new systems and solutions. There’s more to it than tubes, roads, buildings, and bridges. This is about connecting communities and creating opportunities, so we’re ready for the 21st century and beyond.
Day-to-day, you will undertake the specification and delivery of Reliability, Availability and Maintainability (RAM) activities to achieve the operational and business requirements of TfL engineering programmes (including legacy assets) across all phases of the lifecycle, including assessment and development of project scope through to service introduction and beyond.
You will maintain and implement programme RAM procedures, processes, and tools in support of corporate engineering and project management process and establish pragmatic plans and schedules of RAM system integration activity covering programme delivery obligations, balancing technical risk and schedule.
You will establish RAM targets commensurate with the business and operational demand and deliver RAM analysis, predictions and reports at programme and project level in accordance with agreed schedule to the required quality level.
As a RAM Engineer you will have good understanding of 5012x suite of EN standards and be aware of RAM standards from other sectors. You will be able to describe the mixture of asset and non-asset causes of unavailability in the transport system and use theoretical and practical data analysis to develop RAM performance requirements while demonstrating how RAM targets have been apportioned over sub-systems and reapportioned as projects progress.
You will have already had experience conducting Root Cause Analysis, operational focused reliability growth planning, balance the cost of reliability vs unreliability, managing, and leading FRACAS, predicting reliability, and evaluating stakeholder and supplier needs during RAM meetings.
