JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum requirements:

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Engineering or a related discipline.

EXPERIENCE/SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE:

  • A minimum of 5 years in engineering or related field.
  • Proficient in high-level steady-state and transient hydraulic modeling in Synergi Gas, Winflow, or similar hydraulic modeling software.
  • Proficient in process simulation preferably in Aspen HYSYS.
  • Must possess general understanding of how corporate policies, procedures, and practices relate to Tallgrass Energy, associated business units, and internal and external customers.
  • Ability to work in a fast-moving competitive environment that may include handling sensitive company and customer information.
  • Must be knowledgeable in ASME and API standards and related policies, including the ability to attend training as required.
  • Familiar with DOT, EPA, OSHA, and other applicable pipeline safety and environmental, regulations.
  • Intermediate proficiency level in MS Office applications that may include but are not limited to Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

ABOVE THE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS; NOT REQUIRED BUT ADVANTAGEOUS IN THIS POSITION:

  • Familiarity with Tallgrass’ pipeline systems and operations.
  • Direct work experience in the energy industry including a comprehensive understanding of the interrelated gas/oil control, field operations, and gas/oil scheduling processes.
  • General understanding of capital project economics.

Responsibilities:

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

  • Provide design engineering, scope development, and technical analysis for the Tallgrass natural gas gathering and processing system in support of business development activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work closely with the Sr. Director of Business Development to drive growth and assist with customer needs, solutions, and proposals.
  • Provide engineering design and scope development for pipeline and facilities, including route selection, equipment sizing, preliminary cost estimating, and rate determination.
  • Develop and maintain multiple gathering and compression capacity models, including routinely assessing capacity utilization.
  • Perform high level steady-state and transient hydraulic modeling to enhance and optimize existing facilities, including but not limited to pipeline sizing and horsepower selection; maintain such models as required.
  • Perform process simulation to assist with station equipment and pipeline sizing, facility design including compression, dehydration, separation, air emissions, and metering.
  • Work with Operations by providing engineering support and assist with operating issues on existing rich natural gas gathering, compression, dehydration facilities, and gas processing plants.
  • Work with Project Management to ensure successful project execution and assist with field changes to initial system design, as needed.
  • Work with Marketing to provide and help optimize expected field fuel usage.
  • Work with Business Development on technical inputs of financial models.
  • Consistently communicate and coordinate activities with Operations, Land, Project Management, EHS, and other Tallgrass cross-functional teams.
  • Regularly communicate with management regarding project status, goals, and objectives.
  • Deal effectively with a wide variety of people with tact, courtesy, and professionalism.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with both internal and external clients.
  • Take on assignments of other duties and special projects, as needed.
  • Work non-traditional hours as needed.
  • Maintain a high regard for safety.
  • Foster a positive open work environment and disciplined execution of all assigned tasks.
