Description:

When you’re not reviewing our (World Class) Architects’ proposals for suitability and/or technical compliance or generating original design models for our internal design team in Bentley MicroStation, you’ll be managing a Bentley ProjectWise design/asset database or meeting with our clients CAD team to ensure “levels of detail” or CAD conformity with their ISO 19650 digital information management workflow.
You will be embedded in a dedicated but compact Engineering team, within a wider delivery team of Project Management, Controls and Commercial Managers; dedicated to delivering a world class digital advertising network deployed within a high compliance safety critical rail environment.
What you’ll be doing…
• Creating, reviewing, adjusting, geo-locating, applying meta-data to and revising drawings and models using the Bently MicroStation CAD system, ensuring designs are practical and compliant with rigorous high-compliance rail industry standards.• Collaborating with project managers and other engineering staff and departments to improve internal design teams and external 3rd party parties design efficiency and efficacy.• Collaborating with others and the client to ensure designs evolve in a structured manner fully recorded with the relevant suitability codes in a project specific ISO 19650 workstream (that you will be central to developing within the Bentley ProjectWise environment to form our Common Data Environment).• Maintaining the documentation of all design drafts and revisions, providing clear communication across internal, client and delivery partner design teams in accordance with the client’s extensive engineering, CAD and Information Management standards• Working with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM’s) to generate Bentley Systems CAD compliant models of their design proposals, prototypes and final products (frequently transposing models from native digital environments such as Solid Works, Inventor or Catia)• Creating high-quality 2D and 3D detailed technical drawings and plans based on designs supplied by architects and designers and making modifications to existing drawings as required, transposing others base information to the London Survey Grid as detailed in S1-026.• Reviewing and analyzing specifications, sketches, drawings, ideas, and related data to assess factors affecting installation and product designs and their installation.• Ensuring drawings are compliant with client, industry and health and safety standards and protocols and match the formatting, geo-locating and tagging (application of meta data) requirements of the client and ISO 19650 Parts 1&2• Working with other Digital Information Managers within the office to ensure that asset descriptors and meta-data is consistent across the business and that the Bentley ProjectWise database is fully integrated with other asset databases used within the business.• Conducting site visits and surveys when required, incorporating data that may be originated within 3rd Parties point cloud survey environments (performing vectorization when required).• Reviewing construction shop drawings for suitability, completeness and CAD compliance.• Undertake CAD compliance checks as required by the client’s standards.

You willo Be suitably qualified in mechanical/civil engineering, design or production design disciplineo Be highly experienced in the use of Bentley MicroStation and Bentley ProjectWise, experience in the rail or sub-surface rail environment preferredo Be very familiar with: BS EN ISO 19650 1 2018 Organization and digitization of information about buildings and civil engineering works, including building information modelling (BIM) – Information management using building information modelling - Part 1: Concepts and principleso Be very familiar with: BS EN ISO 19650 2 2018 Organization and digitization of information about buildings and civil engineering works, including building information modelling (BIM) – Information management using building information modelling - Part 2: Delivery phase of the assetso Be very familiar with rail design assurance, design, engineering and delivering CAD ISO1192 and ISO 19650o Be familiar with BIM environments having used/managed large Common Data Environments and been involved with BIM Execution Plans (BEP), Master Information Delivery Plans (MIDP), Project Information Exchange (PIX) Formats and the like in the past.o Remain outcome rather than process focused in a highly bureaucratized engineering environment.o Have a good understanding of CDM Regulations and operational processes and health and safety documentation (CCP’s, RAMS etc.)o Be Familiar with the LU Cat 1 S1037 and S1-026 standards.o Be familiar with Bentley MicroStation v. 08.05.02.55 Bentley Navigator v. 08.06.00.16 Bentley ProjectWise v. 08.09.03.70 Bentley Interference v. 08.05.04.13
