We’re looking for a Backend Developer in AutobahnFX; an award-winning platform for Foreign Exchange (FX). FX relies on technology to stay ahead of the competition, we develop high performance & available applications that process more than 3 million trade events and generate 20 billion unique quotes per day. We practice agile, test-first and collaborative development using Java, Kotlin, C++, JavaScript and Oracle and leverage cutting-edge technologies such as MongoDB, ClickHouse, Kafka, Redis, Ignite, gRPC, Spark, and Tableau. We build cloud-ready solutions and host them on-premises (Google Anthos) and on public cloud (Google GKE).
You will be at the forefront of innovation, where you will gain invaluable experience in scaling and optimizing a robust system and be a part of a talented team dedicated to shaping the future of technology in finance.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Experience and excellent knowledge of Java, good knowledge of Linux, understanding of containers and cloud solutions
- Proficiency in high-load distributed system design and fault tolerant applications, algorithms
- Team player, open to collaboration, ability to work in distributed teams and lead engineers
- Ability to take ownership of a task until its completion and solve complex problems, rather than just coding or testing
- Good communication skills, ability to work with business and support teams
- Eager to learn about new technology and gain new skills as required

Responsibilities:
- Designing and developing new functionality on Java
- Designing and implementing subsystems and intersystem protocols, improving longer-term platform architectural vision
- Conducting peer reviews to ensure designs and code are fit for purpose, extensible & re-usable.
- Collaborating and communicating openly. Pairing with colleagues to write software and solve problems, engaging directly with business stakeholders to elicit functional non-functional requirements, and ensuring that the software delivered is fit for purpose
- Learning and digging into details of the FX business to grow as a subject matter expert
- Investigating and fixing production incidents, driving stability and monitoring improvements
