QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience from an accredited University.
- A high degree of personal initiative and excellent planning and organizational skills
- Training in all areas related to design calculations, drawings and specifications and team-based leadership particularly in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- 3D-CAD experience, Solid works preferred. Microsoft Office proficiency.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2 years’ experience in elastomer molding operations
- 2 years’ experience with machine shop operations

Responsibilities:
- First line engineer resource in elastomer molding process development and problem solving with current manufacturing operations in the Nisku facility.
- Responsible for elastomeric tool design for existing products.
- Participate on DFM (Design for Manufacturing).
- Support operations to reduce scrap and optimize production processes.
- Ensure manufacturability of elastomer product while maintaining quality, safety and environmental standards and achieving cost targets in a timely fashion.
- Design in accordance with FFL mold design guidelines.
- Understand the processing conditions of elastomer materials, specifically FFL specific trademarked Gazguard materials.
- Ability to assess changes that are required to mitigate and eliminate non-conformances either by changing processing parameters or through tool design modifications.
- Participate and engage in sharing technology and information between other groups and locations.
- Build and maintain relationships with the R&D groups to facilitate introduction to the market of new technology.
- Establish relationships with tool suppliers.
- Support outside sales with product and application knowledge.
- Participate and lead in GROWTTH kaizen events.
