Are you the type of person who works well with a team and thrives in a challenging but rewarding environment? In this role you will apply your skills in designing, developing, and testing embedded software for Vermeer equipment. We’re looking for your skills and experience in C, C++, Qt, Matlab/Simulink, Plant Modeling, Simulation, Machine Controls, and/or virtual testing to assist us in continuing to make our products the best in the business.
What You’ll Do
1. Develop, integrate, test, and debug simple to moderately complex embedded software for Vermeer machine control systems and displays.
2. Support test technicians, as well as production and service personnel in the testing, manufacture, and servicing of Vermeer equipment.
3. Assist in the definition, analysis, and allocation of software requirements, along with developing machine-level testing approaches and procedures.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering or other Engineering field with an emphasis in embedded software or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Familiar with embedded software programming languages, such as C, C++ or Qt.
- Interest in any of the following: Artificial Intelligence (AI), Continuous Improvement, Robotics, Machine Learning, DEVOPS (Continuous Integration/Deployment), Machine Automation.
- Basic understanding of control system theory and design concepts.
- Desire to learn model-based design tools including, Matlab/Simulink and/or Danfoss Plus+1 Guide.
- Exposure to design, test, and implementation of HMI (Human Machine Interface) and Virtual Instrument components and controls.
- Comfortable analyzing stakeholder needs and turning them into requirements.
- General knowledge in electronic circuits, microcontroller architectures, power supplies, oscilloscopes, signal generators, and principles of operation.
- Awareness of Agile software development methodologies.
Travel
- Occasional travel is expected of this position.
Work Location
HYBRID: Some of a team member’s day-to-day work may be best done at a location other than a Vermeer campus. Discuss specific arrangements with your manager.
