QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelors’ degree in Engineering or Applied Science
- 7-8+ years’ work experience in an automotive engineering environment specializing in suspension component design & manufacturing.
- Extensive knowledge in Autodesk Mechanical, Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD or similar 2D & 3D CAD systems.
- Extensive experience in development and drafting of automotive components
- Experience in configuration of Autodesk Vault software is an asset.
- Knowledge of GD&T as per ASME Y14.5.
- Knowledge of MS Office is required.
- Experience in developing product DFMEAs & DVP&Rs.
- Knowledge of Mechanical Testing (Hardness, Metallurgy, Tensile).
- Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) experience is an asset.
- Finite Element Analysis (FEA) experience is an asset.
- Experience in Project Management and managing multiple projects at the same time.
- Self starter and Driven
- Able to interpret and create technical drawings.
- Analytical, problem solving and root cause analysis skills.
- Proven ability to build effective business relationships.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Responsibilities:
JOB PURPOSE
Reporting directly to the Manager, Product Development, the Engineer I is responsible for the completed detail and conceptual drawings. In this role, the Engineer I will also make recommendations and lend their experience to the Engineering team, identifying key improvements, as well as failure modes of parts in warranty.
