Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 0-2 years of experience writing code and strong knowledge of networking tools, operating systems, and storage, with a focus on Linux.
  • Familiarity with Unix systems.
  • Basic understanding of AWS or Virtualization technologies.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and Shell.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes/EKS/terraform/AWS/Azure/Akamai is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of participating in MIMs (Major Incident Management).
  • Familiarity with logging monitoring solutions such as grafana prometheus loki tempo .
  • Provide engineering support related to OS troubleshooting.
  • Assist the team in repeatable tasks through operational automation.
  • Support the functionality of AWS, Azure environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Be part of our team responsible for designing, writing, and delivering software to improve the availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency of Thermo Fisher Scientific’s services.
  • Work with a team of software and systems engineers on projects for users responsible for uptime.
  • Support end-to-end availability and performance of key services.
  • Build automation to prevent problems recurrence.
  • Automate a response to all non-exceptional service conditions.
  • Be part of on-call rotations across continents, using a follow-the-sun model.
