JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a Fullstack Engineer to help evolve our Tax Engineering team. As a Software Engineer III, Tax, you will be responsible for delivering features and enhancements for our Tax services at OnPay. You will work with product leaders, engineering leaders, and Customer Support teams to inform product direction and decisions. Tax is an ever-evolving industry, and we need an engineer to join to help grow the engineering team centered around Tax functionality at OnPay. We are looking for a self-starter willing to jump into existing processes and deliver at a high level for our customers. OnPay has a robust Tax framework and procedures for a Fullstack Engineer to work in a fast-paced, fun, and educational environment. Please apply through the company website. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • Prior Tax experience (preferred)
  • PHP, Go, React, Docker, MySQL, Mongo, and Redis experience (preferred).
  • JIRA, Confluence, GitHub, and Jenkins experience(preferred).
  • Ability to balance business needs, technical priorities, and customer needs.
  • Familiarity with software testing best practices.
  • Experience with: Agile methodologies, AWS, Looker, and Tableau

Responsibilities:

  • Work with Product and Engineering leadership to map out new features and enhancements to existing Tax products.
  • Work closely with Tax Operations to ensure we follow state and federal law around Tax changes.
  • Work with Tax Operations and Customer Experience to troubleshoot ongoing customer issues.
  • Frequently collaborate with teammates on best practices, Tax law, and business processes.
  • Collaborate with peers to identify and resolve architectural and technical trade-offs.
  • Document software systems and technical requirements to ensure peers can understand decisions made.
  • Balance feature delivery with technology improvements.
  • Use data to help scope, establish, and measure your work.
  • Foster an inclusive team environment.
  • Seek and offer feedback on improvements.
  • Strong desire to highlight others’ accomplishments.
  • Follow standards to prevent security and performance issues.
  • Writing unit tests to reduce manual QA and ensure we don’t introduce new or pre-existing bugs.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and production support.
