ENGINEER IN QUANTUM-SECURE COMMUNICATIONS (D/F/M)
Airbus Defence and Space is seeking a highly motivated Engineer in Quantum-Secure Communications (d/f/m) to join our team in Ottobrunn (Munich).
As a successful candidate, you will become a valuable member of Cloud IT DEVOPS Germany, where you will play a crucial role in designing, delivering, and developing high secure connectivity systems, as well as contributing to the development of essential building blocks used across various business units within Airbus.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and creative individual with a proven track record in software development and embedded systems programming. Strong expertise in communication protocols and security will be highly regarded. The role will also involve Software Integration and Verification and Validation, ensuring that system requirements are accurately and comprehensively implemented at the integration level.
DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Educated to degree level in computer science or engineering or equivalent
- Several years professional Experience
- Proficiency in programming languages and operating systems, such as C, C++, Python, Windows, and Linux
- Good knowledge of Cybersecurity standard practices and communication protocols.
- Knowledge or experience in Quantum Cryptography, with particular focus on secure communication protocols.
- Knowledge of system integration processes
- IT literacy, including proficiency with MS Office applications
- Ability to adapt to rapidly changing daily activities and priorities
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural and demanding environment
- Excellent command of written and spoken English

Responsibilities:
- Collaborate as part of an agile project team for simulation-based study and research projects
- Develop and enhance in-house simulation tools by incorporating new capabilities, simulation models, and interfaces
- Implement user and system requirements for simulating complex systems
- Create simulation tools for operational analyses in military contexts (land, air, sea, and cyber) and networking with other systems, such as Multi Domain Combat Cloud (MDCC)
- Participate in meetings with customers and stakeholders, present study results to clients, and represent the team professionally
- Support the offer process for work packages by providing work package descriptions and effort estimation
- Collaborate effectively with other specialist departments, experts/senior experts, and external project partners
