QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering and four to seven years related experience in aerospace with a minimum of two years of supervisory experience.
- Registered professional Engineer with l’Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec or equivalent Canadian order.
- Prior experience working with students
- Strong theoretical and technical background in engineering and design. Working knowledge of design software (e.g. CATIA).
- Strong theoretical and technical background in aerospace design in Canada, preferably in Quebec.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes related to Aerospace.
- Experience with testing of engineering systems in Aerospace.
- Good knowledge (Level 4) of spoken and written English; basic knowledge (Level 3) spoken French. Knowledge of written is an asset.
- Good knowledge (Intermediate Level) of Word, Excel and Microsoft Teams. Strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities:
- Interact with and provide guidance to students with design concepts, and engineering drawings, especially with regard to Aerospace Engineering Design courses.
- Interact with and provide guidance to students with engineering and design concepts, questions and ideas, with regard to Aerospace Engineering Design courses
- Liaise with faculty to develop and maintain Aerospace related facilities.
- Liaise with instructors teaching aerospace courses, in particular those courses with design projects and labs.
- Ensure verification of drawings for design accuracy, approve test plans and coordinate testing activities.
- Liaise between the University and industry in formulating relevant Capstone and course design projects.
- Formulate engineering and design projects for new and existing courses in aerospace engineering
- Support teams and technical staff working aerospace labs and projects.
- Supervise and manage Aerospace facilities and staff.
- Initiate and develop projects related to new lab experiments and research activities in Aerospace.
- Liaise with other Engineers-in-residence to improve the overall engineering and design experience in ENCS.
- Take part in the organization of Capstone design events and design reviews of student projects.
- Offer engineering and design assistance to extra-curricular aerospace teams.
