Description:

SUMMARY

Reporting to the Manager Applications, the Process - Applications Engineer is responsible for the process design, equipment sizing/evaluation/selection, cost estimating, proposal development, and technical support for the gas processing product line and manages the proposal process from the opportunity to award. The candidate is expected to have a general understanding of the industry guidelines, codes, and standards.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Engineering Degree (Chemical or Mechanical) with 5-10 years relevant experience in the oil and gas industry, preferably in the design and manufacture of processing equipment/units (i.e., amine sweetening, dewpoint control, dehydration, etc.)
  • Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering with relevant experience will be considered.
  • Proficiency in HYSYS & Promax simulation software is a requirement for this position.
  • Experience in estimating and manufacturing/fabrication of modular gas processing units.
  • Strong negotiation, conflict resolution, and relationship-building skills.
  • Demonstrated ability for on-time performance in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct the process design and evaluation of Natural Gas Processing and Compression Units
  • Conduct and / or oversee the design, selection, and costing of process equipment / units.
  • Develop engineering drawings such as BFD, PFDs, and P&IDs and participate in developing conceptual project design and layout.
  • Develop process simulations and create H&MB
  • Develop and manage cost estimates for all projects.
  • Develop and manage the proposal process from opportunity to award.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of costing tools and procedures to improve the process and increase accuracy and success of proposals.
  • Ensure deliverability and reliability of suppliers to meet client specifications and design codes.
  • Assist in evaluation of opportunity risk and reward and assist in developing strategic proposal strategies.
  • Ensure scope definition, technical / commercial accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of proposals.
  • Provide support via bid clarification meetings and pre/post bid technical meetings,
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with clients, project team members, and suppliers.
